Symposium field visit: The field visit will be to Kota Tua, the Dutch colonial heart of old Jakarta where the sister museums of Museum Tekstil Jakarta, Museum Wayang and the Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum are located.

A gala dinner accompanied by a fashion show which will feature at least 11 presentations of ikat designs from both Indonesian and international fashion designers on Friday, 23 August 2019. A limited number of tickets priced at IDR 400.000 are available to the public. This registration is only for non-symposium participants.

Our optional post-WITS tour from 26 to 29 August will be to Lake Toba, homeland of the Batak people with their rich cultural heritage evident in their textiles as well as their traditional architecture, crafts such as woodcarving, music and food. All this is set against the stunning backdrop of the world’s largest volcanic lake with a pleasant climate suitable for comfortable travelling. Please indicate your interest for a post-WITS tour when registering for the symposium and we will be in touch with the itinerary and relevant pricing.
