Manjari Nirula is Senior Vice-President of the World Crafts Council – Asia Pacific Region (WCC-APR), Vice-President of South Asia in WCC-APR and Vice-President of the Crafts Council of India. She has previously also been a member of various craft councils and committees in India and has over 35 years of experience working in the revival of languishing crafts as well as in the documentation, design development and marketing of crafts.
She has designed and participated in numerous exhibitions. Her most recent experience includes co-curating the international exhibitions, Tree of Life and Ikat: Ties that Bind that have been exhibited worldwide since 2015 and 2016 respectively. She also co-curated the Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, India in 2016 and 2017 and was Director for the Curtain Raiser of the World Handmade Textiles Biennale in March 2019. She has participated in numerous crafts fairs, including the Sante Fe Folk Art Market since 2007, and been involved as coordinator, advisor and member of jury for the UNESCO and World Crafts Council Award of Excellence programs for various regions in Asia Pacific since 2004. She has also coordinated publications, including monographs on artisans and exhibition catalogues.
